There is a workaround. You'll need Windows 7 Pro or better, because you'll need to run XP Mode. Start the XP Mode virtual machine.
Install the CardScan software. Plug the CardScan 60ii into the USB port. Under the USB menu option for XP Mode, select 'Attach Cardscan 60'.
